Archbishop Myers has excellent legal coaching, deserves PhD in obscuring the truth

ArchbishopmyersA few months before Archbishop Myers gave a deposition in a lawsuit against him and the diocese of Peoria, Illinois, he spoke to my alma matter via Skype. Students had the opportunity to ask the Archbishop questions. Even the president Jim Vail, asked a question. When a priest-moderator introduced a student who had done extensive research on Myers, the Archbishop began to blush. He later referred the young girl to the “diocesan” website where his CV and articles are posted. Clearly he did not want this young person to have an encounter with the truth of his tenure in Illinois and in New Jersey.

While Archbishop Myer’s love life is well known and documented, it appears to be consensual. While he may be practicing consent with his partners, I could really care less. His treatment of the former priest and whistleblower Bob Hoatson is convincing enough for me – the Archbishop has no vested interest in the well being of Catholic children or children in parochial schools. He is interested in his career : “I’m sure God wants me to be Archbishop.” It was disgusting to hear him say that during the Skype conversation. At another point he said he spends “the majority of” his “time with lawyers.” He is a canon lawyer himself. So he knew how to maneuver, however squeamishly and poorly hidden, while being deposed.

During the deposition Myers revealed (this is not news, but it is to me regarding who appointed the priest to chaplain in my high school) that it is the bishop who gives assignments to all clerics within his diocesan jurisdiction. American bishops are not to be trusted! Cardinal Dolan especially, he may wear a smiling face, but it doesn’t change the fact that he hid diocesan money from survivor/victim claims. Shame! Shame on Cardinal Dolan! Shame on His Huntiness Archbishop Myers! Shame on the gay priests who keep secrets of other indiscretion and child abuse!! Shame on Jim Goodness for repeatedly distorting the truth about Fugee!

A big shout out to Andrew Ward. His mother spoke outside of the Cathedral in Newark. I hope the reparations handed over to him can aid in his healing and recovery! Money is never enough! Money can never repair this kind of damage! I am very grateful that part of the settlement included the disclosure of Myers deposition. His actions and his words are two very different things, thanks to his legal coaching. His actions are saying, I could care less what happens to these children, so long as I get to my cushy Vatican retirement. (Allegedly he’s used parishioner funds toward his private country house in Jersey.)

*Hunty is canonical drag vocabulary, used when queens read/shade each other. Myers being a drag is an understatement.
